bedding, etc., from the nursery into his new room. Wesley got a new crib from Mimi (one of her famous consignment sale buys), and Aunt Erin made the blanket on the bed. The desk, spindle bed, and wardrobe were in my room when I was a little girl! It's so special to see them in Wesley's room now! In fact, the desk was a gift from Santa Claus himself, and I remember thinking how magical Santa was to get it down the chimney! Michael and I reupholstered the desk chair, but the same red floral fabric that Santa made is still underneath. We were excited to see Wesley's reaction to going to bed in his new room for the first time tonight, but he fell asleep in his stroller during our evening walk, so I doubt he even remembers us putting him to bed. He's in for a surprise when he wakes up!
(below) "Wesley, Where's the tree???"
I put him in his crib today so he could try it out, and I had a hard time getting him out of it! He was having fun!
Quick, take a picture!!! ... It only takes seconds for Wesley to pull out about twenty books and distribute then evenly about the room! We're thrilled that he loves books, but I feel like a librarian re-shelving books all day!
We still have to hang some animal print photo boards by the spindle bed where the big blank spot is and do a window treatment, but we wanted to go ahead and take pictures to document Wesley's very first night in his new room.
By the way, we wasted no time into turning the nursery into a little girl's room... Wesley went out, and the pink went in! Stay tuned for photos...
