Softball, Tennis & Pollen

Mt. Dora's softball team played LCS Tuesday evening, and we got to come out and watch Kendall, Avery, Casey & Emily play!  Such a joy to be reunited with the Moser clan - love 'em like family!

Snuggles from Aunt Deb.  -BELOW-  It's been a long time since these two have seen each other!

I promised Anna Kate I'd have lunch with her this week and it happened to be Wynn's birthday!  Paula and Christopher brought cupcakes - and Sayen, which made AK very happy.

The girls are still going strong with tennis at Grasslands.  They play with Kerrigan Cooper, Anna Morin, Emma Green, Riley McCawley, Claire Hames and Sarah & Lauren Remmer, so it's lots of fun.  -BELOW- When it’s mating season and you have to build extra time into your school drop-off commute for the swans to chase each other all over the place.

And spring means pollen season!  This year has been a doozie.  Poor Carigan is always hopped up on Zyrtec, Benadryl, Nasonex, and occasionally cough syrup and eye drops, but nothing can keep those eyes from swelling when she's standing in a literal shower of pollen.  We do the best we can!  She begs to go scootering, and it's really hard to keep her inside.  It's gotten so bad that she's had to start sitting inside by herself (well, with Mrs. Hannum in the elementary office, but she's working) during recess and P.E.  Oh the joys of motherhood... Bloody nose + Uncontrollable sneezing. Too tired to clean up the blood splatter crime scene in the middle of the night. Didn’t know this was part of the job description.

We take a lot of baths!  Poor thing... praying for rain to come and knock the pollen back a bit!

Finale!

Final performance!  I completely spaced purchasing an ad for the slideshow (that runs before & after each show and during intermission), but Mrs. Sumner and Mrs. Wilkinson had me covered!  So thankful for their encouragement and for their dedication to this production.

The scene (below) where Wesley has to tell the truth in response to Teagan's character revealing that she has a crush on him got some of the biggest laughs in the whole play. Teagan's character asks Wesley's character if he likes her in that way, and he replies in a truth serum-induced monotone, "I do like you in that way, I do."  When she asks him if he wants to go to the movies or something he replies, "I don't think so."  When she asks why not he says, "Well I like you and all that but if we go out together just the two of us, Seth and all the others at school will find out and they'll totally make fun of me.  And then my mom will ask me a million questions about you and that will be embarrassing.  And then my dad will want to have some kind of man to man about girls and stuff, and that will be even worse."  Michael and I got a lot of amused looks too!  Teagan then asks Wesley if his friends making fun of him and his mom asking him a bunch of embarrassing questions is more important to him, and he replies "Yes, that stuff is more important, sorry."  They brought down the house!

Katie Jones was hilarious as the school principal.

And Kaleigh Salmon was the cutest thing ever as the school secretary (casting off her wig in a truth-induced moment).

Wes heading to center stage to deliver the closing monologue.

Gifts for Mrs. Wilkinson and Mrs. Sumner.  We're so proud of our budding thespian!

Tate and Carigan have never even met Mrs. Sumner, and they rushed the photo op yelling, "My turn!  My turn!"  Such shy little things.

The girls pouncing on T.J.  They're his biggest fan.  We're so proud of these boys, and thankful for the memories they made!

I Cannot Tell a Lie at George Washington School

Welsey's very first spring play and he landed the lead!  The play both began and ended with him alone on stage addressing the audience.  He's one brave kid!  They got to perform during elementary chapel on Tuesday (I got to watch!) and then they performed during secondary chapel on Thursday.  Tonight was opening night for the public!

Emma made a great big sister!  And TJ loved being Wesley's dad - A very multicultural family!

The play tells the story of what happens when a truck crashes into a lake, infiltrating the town's water supply with a chemical that compels everyone to tell the truth.  Chaos ensues!

End Scene.  So proud I think I could burst.

We got Mr. Charles & Nana Susan front row seats with us for opening night!  Our own Rat Pack - Jacob, TJ, Wesley and Hyatt.  What a memory!
