Three Months Old!

Anna Kate is three months old today!!!

In celebration, Anna Kate has decided to start sleeping through the night! She's come close to sleeping through the night before (made it to 5 a.m. or so), but Wednesday night I put her down at 9 p.m., and she didn't wake up until 7:30 a.m.! I was up about every 30 min. after 4 a.m. checking for a breathing baby! Last night she slept from 9 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. again (and this time I only checked on her a couple of times). I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts, but I'm not convinced that I've seen the last of 3 a.m. feedings with her... Wesley started sleeping through the night at about 3 months, but that only lasted 2 or 3 months until he reverted back to waking up for night feedings. He didn't go back to sleeping through the night until I weaned him!

Anna Kate smiles at just seeing us pass by now - makes it hard not to want to hold her all the time! I keep fixing red-eye in photos, but it takes away the twinkle in her eyes. She has much more expression in her eyes than these photos show! I've got to figure out how to change my camera settings to fix the red-eye problem... feels like I have to fix just about every photo. But babies don't stay still long enough for that strobing flash that prevents red-eye!

Here's what Wesley looked like the day he turned 3-months-old. November 16, 2005.

Wesley was "standing" on our laps at 3-months, pushing off against our legs. When we hold Anna Kate on our laps like this, she jumps like she's in a bouncy seat! She's not standing up like this yet... only for a few seconds at a time.

As you can see, Wesley is enjoying Anna Kate's new Bumbo more than she is! He should be way too big for it by now... I can't believe he can latch the tray on and everything! He loves to sit in the Bumbo and eat cheerios. He carries the Bumbo around groaning, "Heavy, heeeeavy!" Sometimes he can't find it and will come to me saying, "Bumbo?" I tried to put Anna Kate in the Bumbo in Wesley's presence this morning, and he got upset... our first little taste of sibling rivalry! uh-oh.

The kids and I took my Aunt Gail to Bok Tower Sanctuary in Lake Wales yesterday. I'd post pictures this weekend, but I'm gearing up for the arrival of the twins on Monday!! Susan went to the doctor today and she's already somewhat dilated and effaced and all that good stuff, so it looks like it's a go for Monday! So stay tuned for a big "Welcome Jonah and Claire!" post on Monday! Bok Tower photos will have to wait. Please say a prayer for a safe and healthy delivery for Susan and the babies.

Oh my gosh, the twins are coming MONDAY? My twins... well, Kate's twins, are coming Wednesday which is her 37th week! She is having a boy and a girl, too. Thomas and Ella.

I used to think that Anna Kate and Wesley look a lot alike, but seeing Wes at 3 months, I think they look really different!

I've been reserving my comments on the matter until now, but I think it's indisputable that she is definitely a little "Hannah."

I think so too! She is growing so fast it is hard to believe. I love those little seats, I wish i had been turned on to them before she was so old. It would have been very handy. wes looked cute in that chair too!

I can't believe how big she looks sitting up. She's really holding up her head well. My neighbor had a baby two days before you, and her baby looks all slouchy in the Bumbo. Way to go Hannah--you're keeping her well exercised! Can't wait to hear about the twins. I've been checking Susan's website every now and then

Check out that adorable grin Anna Kate has on her face in the first photo.

Glad to see you got your Bumbo. Now I'm going to have to go get the tray. =)

That baby girl is breast-fed and she's already sleeping through the night?!?! OOoooohhhhh you are such a lucky mommy!!!! Why is it that I need sleep so desperately and God blessed me with two children who don't need sleep...there must be a lesson to learn in that somewhere right?!?! I love her lil' Bumbo seat - those were the new hip thing when Rauly was born and we never got one...I see them everywhere now! Whitney is right about Anna Kate - she is a lil' "Hannah"!
