Michael's parents came down to see Anna Kate for the first time over the weekend, and his brother Jonathan flew in from Nashville. They helped us extend Wesley's birthday festivities over the entire weekend. I wonder if Wesley thinks that his 2nd birthday is a permanent state! Here are Grandpa and Mimi seeing Anna Kate for the very first time.

I took Wesley to the doctor today for his two year checkup and asked the nurse if she'd weigh Anna Kate just to satisfy my curiosity. Anna Kate weighs 9 pounds, 12 ounces! She's gained 3 pounds and 2 ounces in her nearly 6 weeks in the world! Wes weighs 24 pounds, 14 ounces, which puts him in only the tenth percentile for weight. He's always been a lightweight!
Mimi has solved our bow problem... after reading on my blog that we're having a hard time keeping track of them and that Wesley insists that his baby sister wear one at all times, she researched on the Internet how to make them and showed up with about 30 bows! She's made them in every color! She taught me how to make the bows and gave me the materials, but I think I need some practice (and some time!). Thanks for keeping us look'n good, Mimi!

Jonathan holding Anna Kate for the first time. Wesley and Uncle Jonathan are big buds. Wes calls him "Jah-fee."
Wesley getting his birthday present from Grandpa and Mimi! This came in very handy during his first trip to The Zoo!

Grandpa sprung for all the extras... Wesley got to ride a camel with Daddy (Michael said the camel must have thick skin because Wes pulled its hair the entire time!). He even got to feed a giraffe! The camera missed the moment that the giraffe's tongue came out and totally engulfed Wesley's hand! I knew that either tears or giggles were about to flow... I was relieved to hear the giggles! Wesley thought being slimed by a giraffe was hilarious!

Wesley giving a turtle five. I spent a lot of time sitting in this building keeping Anna Kate cool. It's HOT in Florida! I have GOT to quit having babies in the middle of the summer!! (below) Wesley showing me how the monkeys go!

Wesley petting a goat. He had a great time with Grandpa (or G-pa-pa, as he calls him), Mimi, and his Uncle Jonathan. He's been telling me stories about them and his visit to the zoo ever since they left. Of course I can't understand a lot of what he says, but I know they're definitely part of the story becaue he keeps saying their names! And he keeps saying "animals, bye-bye." And I say, "Yes, we saw the animals at the zoo, but then we had to say bye-bye." His eyes still light up whenever we talk about feeding the giraffe or riding the camel!

Anna Kate doesn't need any help to keep lookin' good--she's adorable!
I look forward to when my Anna is big enough to appreciate the zoo. Until then, our big mutt of a dog will have to do.
Great pics Hannah! AJ loves the zoo! Looks like you guys had a great visit. Anna Kate looks like she's growing so fast! She's precious. I'm trying to convice Jason it's time for another one. He's on the fence. Two of me in the same house is enough for anyone...does he really want 3??? I want a house full too!! LOL, I think he's waiting to get this house built, then we'll start trying. I'm hoping for a girl this time so you'll have to teach me how to make those bows! Do you think if I start dressing AJ up in dresses, Jason will get the hint??? ;o)
What great pictures!! I cracked up at how you said you need to quit having kids in the summer...fyi, Rauly was born in November (Nov. 30th to be exact) and it was WONDERFUL weather!! You're right, summer in FL is hot and we're planning on having our third (Lord willing)_ around the same time of year that Rauly was born. Wesley looks like he had such a good time at the zoo and your mother-in-law is awesome for showing up with all those bows plus tips for how to make more!! Shep has ridden a camel before and loved it - he's never been licked by a girrafe before though,... way to go Wesley for being so brave!! Anna Kate looks so beautiful!
